Sunday Battle Creek Stunt Ride

Suns out, funs out! Battle Creek Michigan has an amazing motorcycle scene that includes a variety of events, communities and groups. We are fortunate to have spots like the Battle Creek Motorcycle Club where folks can ride motocross and enduro. But when it comes to stunt riders we are limited to a few places where we have permission to practice and hold events. If you don't know the right people, one would never even know these places exist.
A big part of why myself and many others ride is community. Visiting a stunt lot is an unforgettable experience and everything is more fun with friends so one Sunday I decided to organize a stunt ride! The goal was to start at Baily Park and ride to one of the many permitted stunt lots in Battle Creek but then, a change in plans...
A day or so before our ride I saw a post on Facebook requesting Birthday cards for a very special birthday girl who has Downs Syndrome and recently lost her father. It all started as an offer to do a quick little wheelie drive-by at the kiddos house and by the following day it had turned into a parade and a party at Baily Park! The point of my little "stunt ride" was doing things in a safe, permitted and lawful manner so i contacted the Battle Creek Police Department to both get the OK and enlist their participation in the parade!
We had motorcycles, firetrucks, a line of cars and a bunch of folks who saw posts in Facebook groups like "Nosey Asses of Calhoun County" and I cant thank you all enough!
In one day Battle Creek came together and made the world a better place for a day and it was an outstanding example of how things can be done when it comes to stunt riding, the motorcycle community and the general public safely coexisting.. and we are going to do it again!
